6 “Wines that shine” from Bangkok Wine Expo 2019
The only thing I enjoy more than a glass of wine is a bottle of wine, so I was eagerly anticipating the return of the Bangkok Wine Expo at the exquisite Grand Ballroom of the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok this Friday 22 February 2019. Hosted and organized by the effervescent Ms.Napaphan Ruengrod of Napaphan Wine Cellar (NWC), this is a “full-on” day of master wine classes, wine tastings, food pairings, more wine tasting followed by an exclusive 3-course Chef’s Table by Chef Kent.
This “wino-licious” event showcased 30 wineries from Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa and the USA with more than 300 labels to sample. It attracted an eclectic group of sommeliers, international winemakers, local wine distributors, media professionals, as well as a few wine aficionados and novices too. Although it’s hard to pick favorites when confronted with just a bounty of bouquets, I narrowed down my top wine recommendations from the Bangkok Wine Expo 2019, “Sip, Sip Away!”
