“Fishing” for sustainable alternatives at TheOysterBar Bangkok
TheOysterBar specializes in fresh and live seafood and shellfish which is imported and sustainable with no farmed fish on the menu. Everything is made in house to deliver the highest quality and best flavor. They also have an excellent wine list with great bargains and promotions on the along with a fun and lively atmosphere.
I often referer to restaurants as” hidden gems” in articles, but rarely has this moniker been so appropriate as when it was applied to TheOysterBar. Tucked away on a quiet soi in the bustling business district of Narathiwas Road, this “seafood sanctuary” is one of the best places in the city to get some serious “kick-ass” seafood.
The brainchild of American Billy Marinelli and his knowledgeable and competent Thai staff of “owner partners”. Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2019, TheOysterBar is the only place I know of in Bangkok that is offering such a wide variety of wild caught fish, that are natural, sustainable, fresh and never farmed. TRhis is seafood you can feel good about eating.
