Who’s Your Papa? Uncorking the Seductive Pleasure of Don Papa Sevillana Rum
Small batch artisan spirits are all the rage, and it can be tempting to lump them all in the same category, yet every once in a while you stumble across something truly unexpected and delightful. This is the case with Don Papa Rum, a bespoke rum distillery nestled among the palm trees and the rich volcanic soil on the picturesque island of Negros in the Philippines.
While the Philippines is not traditionally known for producing premium spirits, Don Papa is changing that perception. They have diligently been working towards that goal since the creation of the Bleeding Heart Rum Company (BHRC) in 2011 by Stephen Carroll, a former executive at Remy Cointreau.
Don Papa rums are unique for more than a few reasons, and they are renowned for their smooth, smoky, aromatic and semi-sweet flavor profiles.
